Sustainability

In line with our purpose-driven attitude, energy and spirit, our merchandise collection has been carefully created to be of highest quality and sustainability standards.

In 2021, we partnered with stichd to develop a consumer range that has clever and technical sustainability standards throughout, from hand selecting sustainable materials, reducing packaging, increasing product durability and quality to only working with carefully selected suppliers.

Materials

Through stichd, all available apparel materials products are certified either OCS (Organic Content Standard), GRS (Global Recycled Standard) or RCS (Recycled Claim Standard), which set the requirements for third-party certification of sustainable content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices, and chemical restrictions.

100% of apparel products have been sourced using organic or recycled cotton and recycled polyester while utilising suppliers with strong ethical and responsible business practises to minimise environmental impacts. Manufacturing selected products using only singular materials also aids their recyclability at end of life.

Packaging

Through stichd, all available products come in specially designed packaging which is fully recyclable and designed in order to minimise waste. The packaging is made from paper materials (resized to use less material) and printed using sustainable inks.

Design

Through stichd and in collaboration with Formula E, products have been selected using eco design principals, meaning they perform and endure for longer, meaning less waste and overconsumption.

Supplier engagement

Through stichd, all suppliers used for the Formula E collection undergo a rigorous process of social and environmental assessments, with 33% having a ‘leading’ social sustainability score and nearly two thirds having a ‘leading’ environmental sustainability score via the Higg verified Facilities Environmental Management tool. Stichd is working closely with the remaining suppliers on self-assessments to help advance their sustainability journeys and improve these levels.
